Duro Dakovic TEP was selected as a partner for delivery and erection of another boiler for an energy recovery facility for municipal solid waste in the United Kingdom. The customer for the project is Hitachi Zosen Inova, Switzerland, who acts as principle contractor on behalf of a consortium comprising Covanta, Biffa and Green Investment Group.

The contracted supply on behalf of Duro Dakovic TEP includes parts of basic and detail engineering, manufacturing, delivery, erection and commissioning. The capacity of the commissioned boiler is 157 t/h of steam which represents one of the largest single units of communal waste treatment boilers in Europe. The total weight of the assembled material and equipment to be delivered and installed by Duro Dakovic is around 2.200 tons.

This plant will treat communal waste and supply electricity to around 80.000 households, and contribute to the UK’s efforts to decrease waste landfills and reduce waste export to similar plants abroad.

Duro Dakovic TEP has delivered and installed boilers or boiler parts for over 20 waste to energy plants across the UK and Europe in the last decade.
