On behalf of the Czech Republic’s GEEN Group, Đuro Đaković TEP d.o.o. designed, manufactured and, in 2021, commissioned on a turnkey basis a new forest wood biomass cogeneration plant and a dryer in Gospić, Croatia.

The net rated capacity of the power plant is 4.96 MW, and the owner will utilize the thermal energy (3 MW) in its fuel drying plants and other technological production plants. The operation of the power plant in Gospić requires an estimated 55,000 tons of forest wood biomass per year.

The combustion in this biomass power plant also occurs in the boiler on a water-cooled vibrating grate. The vibrating grate ensures the functioning of the boiler even with very damp fuel, and guarantees very low maintenance costs with any fuel, high availability of the boiler and low clean consumption of the power plant.

The biomass boiler with steaming capacity of 26.6 t / h, 480 ° C and 65 bar (a), including the water-cooled vibrating grate, along with all ancillary pressurized and non-pressurized equipment required were designed and manufactured at Đuro Đaković TEP in Slavonski Brod. As all our power plants built to date, this power plant was designed, built and commissioned in a very short period of time, including the process of obtaining a construction permit.

By combining the most advanced technical and technological solutions, the best practices in nearly a century of production and installation of such equipment, and rigorous selection of equipment, the plant now achieves high energy efficiency and availability, with emissions well below the prescribed values.
